Since so many of you are landing on Momma Bird Blog for essential oil research, here’s what I wanted to share with you. They may not work for everyone, so use at your own discretion. Also, these won’t replace prescriptions or necessarily cure you. It has been my personal experience that they work well for minor problems; stress, nausea, etc.
What do they do?

Premium Starter Kit (PSK)
This is the most bang for your buck. (I’ll explain the cost break down at the end.) You will get to choose from a few different diffusers. The kit also comes with a few samples (including Thieves Household Cleaner, and hand sanitizer). But most importantly, your kit comes with 12 oils (5 ml each which is 100 drops/uses). The oils that come in the PSK are:
- Stress Away
- Peace and Calming
Not all oils are to be diffused. And not all are to be ingested. So you’ll want to read the guide that comes with your kit as well.
Most Versatile Oils
Lavender is considered the “Swiss army knife” of essential oils. That’s one of my favorite scents and one of the most versatile oils! I add a few drops of this along with peppermint and refined coconut oil. And ta-da! Headache relief! It also heals sunburn when added to a spray bottle. It also makes for the most dreamy bubble bath ever!
Peppermint is best for headache relief, nausea, sore feet, itching, and more! I currently have poison ivy on my arm, so one drop of that relieves the urge to itch. I also open up a bottle and inhale the aroma when I feel nauseous, which I almost always do on a long car ride.
Lemon is used for mood boost, cleaning, balancing your PH levels of your skin, and so much more! Add lemon with the above two essential oils for an allergy diffuser recipe!
Why Can’t I just buy these at the Supermarket?
I mean, you could. But next time you’re in the store, go look at the ingredients labels on their oils. If it says fragrance, know that can mean a wide range of unlisted synthetic ingredients, many of which are not to be ingested, applied topically, or inhaled.
As well as the fragrant oils, be weary of the oils near the vitamins. These often have fillers, which are less pure. Think for instance, an off brand Excedrin. I don’t know about you, but that does not work for me! (And yes, I gladly take Excedrin if I need to because of migraines.)
Is it really safe?
The FDA doesn’t regulate essential oils because they aren’t considered a drug, most of which are not intended for ingestion. My source from the FDA tells me that they will likely never get too involved with essential oils unless there would be a lot of complaints. So basically they haven’t stepped in because there hasn’t been a need to.
However, essential oils have been around for thousands of years, well before modern medicine. So after thousands of years of use and research, I’d say they’re safe (as directed by the manufacturer.)
Cost Break Down
Okay, so this may be a big question for you. Well, as mentioned above, you get 12 oils, a diffuser (valued at $60), Thieves cleaner ($10), Thieves hand sanitizer ($5 each), and Ninxia Red antioxidant drink samples ($3 each). If each bottle were the same cost, you would only spend $7 per bottle. Most bottles in the kit cost anywhere from $10-$30 or more.
That’s a good value!
